Marie Curie
Marie Curie was born in Warsaw
(Poland) on November 7, 1867 and
died in Passy (France) on July 4, 1934.
Born Maria Salomea Sklodowska,
Marie Curie is known for being the
first woman scientist to receive the
Nobel Prize and to be the first
professor at the University of the
Sorbonne in Paris.
Santiago Ramón y
Cajal
One of the great scientists of the
twentieth century is Santiago
Ramón y Cajal, a founder doctor of
modern neurobiology, being the
first to accurately show the nervous
system, the existence of neurons
and the connection between them.
Abert Einstein
Albert Einstein was a German
physicist of the 19th and 20th centuries
(born March 14, 1879 and died April
18, 1955) known mainly for the
development of the theory of relativity
(special and general) and the
theoretical explanation of the
Brownian motion and the photoelectric
effect
Nikola Tesla
• Tesla was an inventor, mechanical,
electrical and physical engineer born
in 1856. Nikola Tesla was one of the
great inventors of the 19th century
although he never became as famous
as his arch enemy Thomas Edison,
who, in addition to being his biggest
rival was his boss
Alexander Fleming
Alexander Fleming owes his fame to
the discovery of penicillin, an
antibiotic that revolutionized modern
medicine, treating different diseases
that, until well into the 20th century,
were considered incurable. The
scientist was born on August 6, 1881
in Lochfield, Scotland.
