Introduction
Dances are eventually known as a creative way
of expressing feelings and emotions through new
trends of movement and rhythm. As music
gradually evolves into wider concepts, dances
goes along with new abstracts. A broader way of
interpreting meaning through dances was widely
practiced and performed by many.
Introduction
Group dances are popular in school
and in the community. One of the
reasons is that group dances give
health and social benefits to a lot of
people. Some of the group dances are
cheer dance and contemporary dance.

• Is coined from cheer and dance.
• Cheer is to shout out words or phrases that
may help motivate and boost the morale of a
playing team and perform better during a game.
• Dance, on the other hand, is a physical activity
where one expresses emotions or gestures
while performing bodily movements usually in
time with rhythm.
CHEERLEADING
• Isthe performance of a routine,
usually dominated by gymnastic
skills such as jumps, tumbling
skills, lifts, and tosses combined
with shouting of cheers and yells to
lead the crowd to cheer for a certain
team during a game or sports.
CONTEMPORARY DANCE
• is
a style of expressive dance that
combines elements of several dance
genres including modern, jazz, lyrical
and classical ballet. Contemporary
dancers strive to connect the mind and
the body through fluid dance
movements.
