EXCRET

ORY
SYSTEM
Biology Y3
Functions:
1. EXCRETION waste elimination/expulsion

2. OSMOREGULATION keeping constant amount of H₂O in the cells

3. HOMEOSTASIS
internal balance

Osmoregulating mechanisms:
1. EXCRETION

2. SWEATING

3. BREATHING

BOWMAN'S CAPSULE.

The solid mass inside is the GLOMERULUS surrounded

by a clear space, the BOWMAN'S CAPSULE.

The glomerulus is a mass of Capillaries--blood pressure

forces the liquid portion of the blood (plasma) through the
capillary membranes into the Bowman's Capsule. The
filtrate then enters the renal tubules where the
physiological processes of reabsorption and secretion
convert the filtrate to urine.
