Direction: While the music is playing


the teacher will pass a box with
pictures in it. When the music stops
the student, who has the box will pick
a picture and guess what it is and say
something about it.

ICING and frosting
Do you know that frosting and icing are actually
two different things?
Frosting and Icing are often used interchangeably
when we talk about decorating a cake. However, in
reality, the two are extremely different from each other
and you might have wondered the difference between
them at some point while baking.
The reason why they are often mistaken for each
other is that they’re both used for decorating baked
goods. But the way each of them is used is quite
different from each other.

Icing
Icing is a sweet coating made of
sugar, butter, water, and egg
whites or milk; It is often
flavored and cooked and used
to cover or decorate baked
goods, such as cakes or
cookies.

Frosting is the thick, fluffy mixture that
is used to decorate cakes and
cupcakes. It is the stuff that holds
the shape on your cake and looks
pretty in various designs. It is
usually made from some kind of fat
like butter or cream along with
sugar and other flavoring agents like
vanilla, chocolate, lemon, etc.

Butter Cream
Butter cream is made of sifted
powdered sugar, milk, and superior
butter. The quality of butter used will
reflect on the appearance,
consistency, and taste of your butter
Whipped Cream

This type of cake icing is achieved using cold


heavy whipping cream and sugar. Some would
advise you to use powdered sugar but ordinary
granulated sugar would work just as well.
This type of cake icing dries
into a hard outer shell. It is
also one of the easiest to
dye with edible colorings.
There are two ways to make
this type of frosting: using
Royal Icing egg whites (like meringue
icing) and powdered sugar
or by using meringue
powder in place of egg
whites.
Cream cheese frosting is made
with part buttercream
frosting and good quality
cream cheese. This type of

carrot cakes, red velvet cakes

Meringue
The basic ingredients for this frosting are
egg whites, cold water, and granulated
sugar and are one of the most common

This is a popular heavy
frosting among
celebration cakes
because it is easy to
sculpt and work out.
