The term Ladino is derived from the word "Latino“


and is used in Central America and Chiapas, to refer
to the mestizo or "Hispanicized" population.

Ladino culture represents the non-indigenous population,


generally made up of Spanish-speaking mestizos. ...
They originate from the 16th century, it developed first as
something cultural,
since the indigenous people themselves adopted Spanish customs,
and later as something biological.
