events. Characters, setting and events
are the product of imaginations from the
author. It can be inspired by the actual
events or completely made up.

of literature that deals with factual

kind of writing that is not poetry or
that is not presented in verse form or
stanza. It is a specifically imaginative

Carlos Sampayan Bulosan, (1911-September 11, 1956)
was a Filipino American author, poet, and activist. A chronicler
of the Filipino American experience during the 1930s-early
1950s, he is best remembered for his semi-fictional, semi-
autobiographical novel about Filipino immigrant experience
America Is In The Heart(1946). He wrote My Father Goes To
Court. He based this story on folklore from the Philippines, and
it contains an underlying social commentary. This story

changes as part of their role as human beings. They are
often known as the hero/heroine. Since they undergo
changes, they possess dynamic traits, and the changes
they face depend on the situation.
- Flat/Static Characters They are the characters that do not
change. They remain static or stagnant throughout the
story. As the story begins, the flat characters are static
and stay as they are until the end of the story. They help
bring out the best in the main characters or the
protagonist.
