It is cold today and raining, but I see green grass, flowers and bushes blooming and budding, and sitting here looking out, it sorta looks like spring. Im thinking about spring right now. Some of my favorite things are the flowers and trees in bloom. I love seeing the robins hopping around their nest, trying to protect their blue eggs. There are at least two of them in my yard right now and man are they busy little critters. They hop around finding worms out of the still cold ground and twigs for their nests. Every time I am just positive that they are here too soon, but they never are. God is their creator and Im sure he put that instinct in every living thing of knowing when. Animal and plant life use that instinct lots better than we humans. I love the feel of grass under my bare toes or just throwing on sandals to wear to the store. More often than not, though Im bare foot. I like the summer colors, yellow, blue, green and lavender. I always had a new yellow Easter dress for church. Happy thoughts are what comes to mind when I hear the word spring. This is the time of year when lots of people, young and old, have spring fever. Nowadays it is mostly a state of mind, not a malady, which commonly occurs on balmy sunny days in April and May. It is characterized by an oh, shucks notion that nothing is so important that it cant wait. You have an almost irresistible urge to play hooky, get out-of-doors, and go fishing or saunter aimlessly along Wednesday Hamburger, Oven French Fries, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Fresh Fruit, Chilled Pineapple, Marshmallow Rice Treat, Milk. Thursday Sloppy Joe On Bun, Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Peaches, Assorted Fruit Juice, Milk. Friday Chicken Nuggets, Sweet Potato Crunch, Green Beans, Strawberries, Fruit Mix, Roll, Milk.

or maybe just lie and bask in the sun. March 26, every year around arrival of spring, a mysterious affliction strikes young and old. A thermometer may not register a fever, but many symptoms still exist. Oh, how I hated to go to school in those spring days of April before school was out in May. I would much rather be outside and found it hard to concentrate on lessons. Right now I have an urge to take a big glass of iced tea outside on the deck and be quiet, but it is pouring down rain and chilly. Hey, I even like the spring storms and all the showers. In fact I love rain. I also love the smell of fresh plowed ground, or rain hitting on dry ground which produces the smell of rain. Now having said all this and tootin the horn of spring,

ATU/Ozark OTA program granted full accreditation

Arkansas Tech University/Ozark Campus announces that its occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program has achieved accreditation status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). The ACOTE accreditation lasts five years and follows an intensive self-study review and on-site visit, which was held April 1-3 at Morton Hall in Russellville, where the OTA program is housed. OTA Chair Adrienne Shelton said, The OTA department is very proud to receive accreditation from [ACOTE]. This means that Arkansas Tech/Ozark is able to meet the needs of the local healthcare community with a recognized occupational therapy assistant program. Chief Academic Officer Bruce Sikes said, We want to congratulate the leadership of our OTA faculty, administration, staff and students in their efforts to achieve this national standard. Acquiring national accreditation is an example of the Ozark Campus commitment to offering a quality educational environment, assuring health care providers and students of learning excellence. Arkansas Tech/Ozark provides students in the region with several Allied Health options, including registered nursing, licensed practical nursing, paramedic/emergency medical services, physical therapy assistant and health information technology. This fall semester, cardiovascular technology also will be an offering at its Chaffee Crossing location. With the accreditation status, OTA graduates may sit for
