Problems for Mesh & Nodal Analysis

Assignment: 1. Your instructor will assign you TWO of the problems below 2. Click on the Answer to see what the correct voltage or currents should be. Write these down. (If curious, you can look at the equations used to solve the circuit) 3. Create the two circuits (side-by-side) in EWB, inserting the necessary voltmeter or ammeter. Note: A voltmeter is placed ACROSS an element. An ammeter is placed IN SERIES with an element. Note: You can find these instruments in two places: (fancy: Simulate, Instruments, Multimeter), (simple: Place, Components, Indicators, Voltmeter or Ammeter) 4. 'Run' (or turn ON) your circuit to find the required voltage or current. Compare it with your expected values. 5. If your values are correct, put your name on the figure below the schematic, print it out, and turn it in to your instructor.

6. For the beginners, before you rush out to your archery set for an arrow, the symbol in the circuit below is a DC current source (hard to find at Radio Shack). In Multisim/EWB look under Place, Component, Sources, Signal_current sources, DC CURRENT. As you can guess the current goes in the direction of the arrow. The other 'funny symbol' is a battery (easily found at Radio Shack, under the hood of your car, etc.) Look around in EWB and you will find it! :) Back
