Albany County Executive Deployed in Hurricane Sandy Relief

While Hurricane Sandy did not have a severe physical impact on our area, its toll downstate is significant. Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy has organized a drop off location at the County Office Building to encourage employees and residents to donate much needed items that will be transported to the affected areas. Now, like many other local service men and women, McCoy has been deployed downstate to assist in relief efforts. "I am proud to be able to continue serving my country and fellow residents of New York State by assisting in whatever way I can as a member of the National Guard," said McCoy. "While I may not physically be in Albany, I am frequently in contact with those handling the day-to-day operations of our departments as well as Deputy County Executive Christine Quinn. Under the Charter, Ms. Quinn is empowered to act on my behalf. Albany County is in capable hands." McCoy is expected to return to Albany later this week.
