Business Development Plan for Cobbler Imagine this- You are pursuing your MBA in a residential college and need to get the soles of your shoes stitched up or the zip of your bas fixed, but you have absolutely no time to walk all the way to the Cobbler who sits some half an hour away (by walk). Wouldnt you wish to have a person who comes to you like the laundry man does and get your work done for you? Inspired by this problem, my assignment deals with framing an expansion plan for the cobbler who sits near Infosys (or so Ive heard) and who I have never met in the 2 year even though I have one bag, 2 pairs of sandals and a suitcase that needs to be redone. The cobbler, say Mr. X, can approach the nearby colleges and tap the students who do not have time to get their torn shoes fixed. Mr. X can be done in 2 stages1. Write his name and number on a piece of paper and put it up on the hostel notice boards 2. Offer pick up and drop services Mr. X can then simply go to these colleges in his cycle and get the work done. Alternatively, if business is doing good, he could hire a boy who already has a cycle to do the work for him at minimum wage. In this case Mr. X could fix timings twice a week (on Sundays and Wednesdays) when the boy will visit the different colleges and get the work done for him. Later on, he could extend these servies to the various flast in Electronic City. Financial PlanCost to buy a normal cycle if Mr. X does not own one Rs. 700 to 1500 (depending on if its second hand or a new one) In case of hiring a boy Rs. 100-150 per day Mr. X could charge Rs.5 higher than the usual price as pick up and drop charges. In case the customer wants his/her large suitcase to be repaired, Mr. X could take Rs. 40 as conveyance charge (or higher depending in the distance)
