Teacher: Professor Reilly Lesson plan title: Presenting Cities of France - Day 3 State Standards: 1.1, 1.2, 2.2, 3.1 Unit objectives: Students will gain and express cultural knowledge in the target language. Lesson Objectives: Students will be able to understand a presentation in the target language and gather information. Introduction, Set Students will be given a few minutes to get ready for - Projector/Smartboard Induction, or their presentations. Anticipatory Set Groups will be asked to volunteer to present. Lesson Procedures 1- In groups, students will give a presentation in the target language of their group project on a city in France. 2- Students will gather information given by the different groups using the city worksheets. 3- Using the group presentations, students will place the various cities of France on their maps. 4- In pairs students will discuss the information obtained through the presentations. - Students will pay attention to the presentations. - Students' behavior will be monitored by the teacher. 1- Students will be asked questions concerning the presentations: In what region is Marseille? What is Bordeaux's specialty? 2- Teacher will answer potential questions. - Students will be assessed by the teacher during the presentations via a rubric previously presented to the class. - Students will hand in their presentation for individual grading. - Students with IEP will receive modified worksheets with multiple choice responses. - Students will IEP will receive appropriate support from teacher. - Gifted students will include extra information in their presentations. - Projector/Smartboard - Blank map of France - City worksheets - Pen and paper Date: 1/22/13 Grade: 10th
