Activating Strategy Each day, students will have a bellringer activity when they come in to help them
review previous information that is pertinent to the day’s lesson.
Key vocabulary to preview and Vocabulary in “Students Will Know” section. Strategy: Teacher will go over new
vocabulary strategy vocabulary with PowerPoint and pictures. Students will then complete graphic
organizers in their student notebooks.

Summarizing Strategy With the Essential Question in mind answer the following question:

“Did you get it?” Summarizing Who are Mexicans and how are they different/similar to us? What parts of the Mexican
culture make you want to visit? How can you be more educated about Mexican culture? Are
questions in textbook. all Mexicans “immigrants” (illegal or legal?) Do they speak their own language in their
homes and in Mexico or do they speak Spanish?
