Why we chose this topic: ! ! When we looked at the theme for the year and trying to nd a topic that would t in well with it, what rst came to mind to us were sports themes. But throughout middle school and last year we had done sports themes and we wanted a change of pace and chose the topic Television in the 1950s and the Transformation of American Entertainment. Once we started to look into the broad spectrum of information we had to our disposal, we knew we had the right topic. How we conducted our research: ! ! We started off the study of our topic by rening what we were looking for. Because looking at all the different subtopics about the Television in the 1950s and the Transformation of American Entertainment. Because when we looked into all that came from this, we where overwhelmed with too much information, we had no clue where to start. So we narrowed down what we looked for piece by piece to gather the info. The source that we found the most help was the Thinkquest Library. There we found almost everything we needed from the 1950s to really get a grasp for what shows were the most common. How we developed our website: ! We developed our website with the user in mind. We wanted to make the website as user-friendly as we could, while keeping it interesting with pictures where possible. Also, we came up with our main topics as ones that would be easy to categorize. We also wanted didnt want to overwhelm our viewers with loads of information, we wanted to keep it straight to the point, trying not to veer into the specics but still going into enough detail to get our point across. How our project relates to the theme: ! Our topic very clearly exemplies a turning point in history. It shows that because our culture turned from being a culture that had little to no technology, to a culture where in almost every house you nd a television!

It is a turning point because it shows how you can go from a society with no technology, to a society ooded with it in a mere 50 years.
