My name is Maria Camila Ramos Canon. My mom gave me that name because she liked it ever since she was little. My family has had a lot of stories when I was little. One of them is when I almost got kidnapped in Colombia when I was 5 and thankfully my grandmother saw and scared him away with a gun. I had lived in Colombia for 6 years and I lived there in a farm called a finca then I got the opportunity to come to the United States and live at an apartment in Jackson Heights. Then we got a house in Flushing. I have a sister younger than me and yes I do remember when she was born. Yes I have spent a lot of time with my Grandmother from my mom side because when my mom came to the United States she left me with my grandmother for 6 years. Thats the only Grandparent I have because I dont talk to my dads side of the family, and my Grandfather from my moms side died. Yes my uncles and cousins had have time to have fun with me in Colombia when I lived there. Yes I have had a best friend and we have done so many things together, she was like my sister and we were always together. There was never a time we werent. My family is unique because they are the type that loves to make jokes and laugh like there is no tomorrow. I have had two favorite hobbies ever since I was little, one of them is playing basketball and the other one is dancing. I loved Salsa. When my mom and me went to parties all the adults were dancing, while all the kids were outside playing. Except me, I was always looking at how they danced, I thought looking at them dance was really fun. When I was about 9 I danced salsa perfectly, I remember they took videos of me and they even told my mom to put me on TV for kids that knew how to dance (but I was shy so I said no.) Dancing was something that distresses me and makes me happy. I have played guitar and piano, but I stopped because I didnt like it, it wasnt me. I did take lessons for about 2 weeks and then I couldnt anymore because it got really boring and I went to sleep. My first dance was in Halloween when my mom and me went to a big house party. The party started at 9pm and it ended the next day at like 7am. It was crazy! I was about 9 and I danced the whole time. After all that I always wanted to go dancing, every weekend so my mom decided and asked me if I wanted to take salsa classes but in an artistic way, so I said yes and I really liked it because we did shows and stuff like that. Then I decided to stop because it was fun but I started getting accepted to basketball teams and I already knew how to dance it so I didnt really care. After that I stopped for 3 years and this year I started to miss it and I decided to take Salsa again.

My favorite sport is Basketball, I like that you have to concentrate and guess what the next move is from the opponent team. My position is a guard. The Best Family Vacation was when I lived in Colombia and I was about four and my dog named Luna had babies and we went to a big park with all Family and we ran and played and ate and did everything together. It was a really fun day that I would never forget it. We went a park in Melgar and we went to my uncles house near there and stayed there for about 3 days. The first time I traveled alone was this year when I was going to Colombia. It was scary at first but then it was all right because Ive traveled a lot of times so Im used to it. You just have to be really responsible, especially with your stuff and not be daydreaming because the flight might leave you. Yes I do like school because you can see your friends and its better to do something than to be in your house the whole day. My favorite teacher I have to say is Ms Nachman. Shes a science teacher and shes my favorite because I never really understand science that much and shes always explaining her self and making things easier for us. Another thing is because she doesnt penalize late homeworks. Global gives me headaches because I really dont like it, I mean like I understand it but in surprise quizzes I am getting low grades. I get at least 4 or 5 home works each night. Yes I am allowed to watch TV in school nights because I am not five anymore and its my responsibility to wake up early. No I have never gone to camp, and I dont really want to go because I have a better time with my family in my house. I took swimming classes when I was like 7 and I dont remember who taught me and I never had scary memories. I never have had a summer job. I was never bored during the summer because my mom is one of those people who hate not doing anything so she would always have plans. The only hero in my life is my mom.
