At Home Last week For the last few weeks we have been working on counting by 5s at our Morning Meeting. This week all students were assessed individually to see how high they could count. I am proud to say that ALL students counted past 100! We will now start practicing counting by 2s. http://www.turtlediary.com/kindergartengames/science-games/butterfly-lifecycle.html This short video will teach your child about the 4 stages of a butterfly and then challenge your child to put the stages in order. We will be learning about each stage more in depth next week, but your child can get an upstart by playing this game. http://www.kidssoup.com/Butterflies/butt erflies.html I have noticed that several students really love being creative in class. While we will be doing some fun crafts for the butterfly unit, we will not be doing these. Get crafty and have fun with the crafts on this site. As always, I have contacted the local librarian and have had her pull some great books for you to read over the next few weeks. Go check them out!

Whats Next??? This week we are starting our unit on the life cycle of butterflies. All of the students are very excited because we will have live caterpillars in the classroom! I have arranged for caterpillar eggs to be sent to us so we can see all the stages a caterpillar must go through to become a butterfly. Students will start observations of the eggs Monday.

Reminders!!!! In just two weeks we will be going to the butterfly enclosure. I sent out permission slips in last weeks Friday Folder and havent received all of them back. If your permission slip has been lost please let me know and I will send another home. We still need chaperones!
