Ms. Scott provided a summary of the previous week and upcoming events. In the previous week, students worked on math facts and a writing project based on the book "Someday." Science fair plans were beginning to take shape. The following week would include a day off for a regional specialist association meeting and a tentative field trip to Garden View.

A late welcome back from Spring Break! We just completed our second 4 day week since Spring Break and we have one more to go! Science Fair plans are starting to be formed. Ask your grade 3 child what their individual project will be and ask your grade 2 child what our class project will be! We were working on Math Minutes for addition last week and some of this week and we have started the subtraction sheets. I have decided to do these sheets after watching some kids freeze as we were starting to do double digit addition before Spring Break. This was a friendly reminder and confidence booster that they do know their basic math facts. I will continue to update you on the various math strategies I am introducing for double digit addition as there are a few different ways I like to show the kids. What works for one, may not work for another! We have been working on a writing project based on the book Someday. Ask your child what they chose for their Someday topic. Friday Mrs. Keiver shared her Spring Break experience of visiting the Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump Interpretive Centre. We got to role play as hunters and buffalo in the class. She also read Little Chief and Mighty Gopher. Ask your child how the Blackfoot Tribe used the different aspects of the land to hunt the mighty buffalo
Upcoming Weeks: April 13 - 17
