INVESTIGATION: RESEARCH

Guiding Questions: 1. What are some new modern designs that I could use for my clock? 2. How can I make my clock more useful than just an inspirational clock? 3. How can I incorporate Mozambican-styled themes into my clock without changing its idea completely? 4. What tools and techniques are used to make clock face? 5. What are some examples of clocks with innovative designs and functions? 6. What Mozambican inspired designs/ themes can we find in some products? 7. What are some recycled materials used to construct different kinds of products?

RESEARCH: 1.

I could use the first clocks design as my frame. I could make the frame out of wire and then fill the empty space with colours and inspirational quotes. 2. Instead of having just an inspirational clock I could also add in my other

purpose or use which was math. I could have random math quotes here and there along with funny quotes and pictures so that it has more than one function. 3. I could use some kapulana and other Mozambican styled theme and products to make my clock. I could use the patterns and colours to add some spice to my clock. 4. The tools and techniques used to build a clock face all depend on what you want your clock face to look like. My clock face is going to be made with recycled items and Mozambican products that have a certain theme or style to them. Therefore, Ill need some recycled useable materials such as wire, plastic, and kapulana, magazines pictures and

quotes. The greatest technique I think that Ill need is creativity so that my clock comes out awesome. 5. 6.

6. You can find a lot of Mozambican inspired themes in art work

(woodcarvings), purses and other clothes that are made from kapulana. Bracelets with beads and other jewellery. 7. Magazine cut outs, wire, plastics pictures and other recycled items such as cardboard. I think that the information I have gained will help me organize and create my clock successfully without a lot of work and complete, therefore achieve the goals and guidelines set out in the begging of the project.
