Paragraph 1 : Today, we had a workshop on drawing

techniques for interior design. We learned about different

types of drawing, such as perspective and isometric, and
how they can be used to create accurate and visually
appealing designs . then we were introduced to painting
techniques because painting is essential in the design
process as it illustrates the colour palette of the space we
are designing and how it will look in the end .
At first we learned about painting with gouche colours
which are paste like and has to be diluted with water
before use , painting with gouche is easy as long as you
use thick and rough paper .
then we learned to use coloured pencils , but it was’nt as
satisfying as gouche , as the latter is much more
pigmented and colourful .
then we learned the water colour wash technique , but it
was a total miss ! for water colour painting should already
be messy and less detailed than the other techniques , so I
didn’t like it much .
It was a bit challenging, but I enjoyed learning new
techniques and putting them into practice .

Paragraph 2 : Today was a day of research and planning. I

spent most of the day researching sustainable materials
and technologies that I could incorporate into my designs.
I believe that it is essential to be mindful of our impact on
the environment and to design buildings that are eco-
friendly and energy-efficient.
First , I visited Wikipedia for general information , and
looked up main headlines and names of materials I want ,
then I began to research every material one by one .
At first I got stressed out because of the huge amount of
data I found , and I thought I couldn’t read and understand
all of that , then I kept my chin up and began to break
every title into small chunks so as to make the process
easier , then I summarized all the data in a mind map so as
to be difficult to forget .
Researching was a bit tiring , but after all .. it’s essential
to learn about different materials in our field .

Paragraph 3 : Today was a day of creativity and

experimentation. I spent the morning working on some
sketches for a new project, trying out different color
palettes and design elements. It was refreshing to take a
break from the technical aspects of design and focus on
the artistic side for both of them are equally important to
the design process .
At first , I prepared my pens , brushes and paints .. and
thank goodness gouche colours hadn’t finished so soon as
they cost an arm and a leg , then I chose a pharaonic
artifact and began to mimic it , then I prepared it’s colours
and began to colour it carefully .
Next , I printed a design that I had drawn on the computer
lately and used the colous of the pharaonic artifact to
colour it , I was about to finish when I accidently pushed
the cup of water I used to wash my brushes in and it
spelled on my painting .
It was frustrating that I lost my temper , but I cleaned the
mess , and went back to the drawing board and began
from scratch .

Paragraph 4 :
Today was a challenging day for me as I had to present
my final project in my interior design class. The project
was to design a bedroom for a client who preferred a
minimalist style.
I had worked on the project for several weeks, and I was
confident that I had done a good job. However, presenting
in front of the class and the professor made me nervous.
During the presentation, I walked the class through my
design process and explained the concept behind my
design. I showed them the sketches, mood boards, and 3D
models I had created to give them a better understanding
of my vision.
To my relief, my presentation was well received by the
class and the professor. They appreciated my attention to
detail, the color scheme, and the functional layout of the
bedroom. It was a proud moment for me to receive
positive feedback on my hard work.
This project has taught me the importance of effective
communication and presentation skills in the field of
interior design. It's not just about designing a beautiful
space but also being able to articulate the design concept
and vision to clients and stakeholders.
Overall, it was a successful project, and I'm proud of the
work that I've done.
