Required Materials for this lesson: Pencils Short u worksheets Colored pencils to color their pictures afterwards to distinguish the words Students Background/ Prior Knowledge/ Experience: Students will recall the sounds of the alphabet that they have worked on previously and as a warm up every day. Main Ideas: Distinguishing the short u sound from other letters in the alphabet Key Vocabulary: Short u intervention words Motivational Strategy/ Anticipatory Set for Lesson: We will recall the sound of the short u that we have been working on What sound does it make What words have we learned
