• We can easily carry data anywhere

FLOPPY DISK

• The first types of storage devices .


• It can hold up 160 KB to 1.44 MB of data.
• It has limited storage, limited use and very easy
to lose or damage.
• We use removable storage devices to store or
save our data.

PORTABLE HARD DISK

• It is possible to store more data compare to a


floppy disk.
• We can save videos, movies, games, songs,
pictures with this device.
• We use removable storage devices to store or
save our data.

CD-ROM

• A CD-ROM is round in shape.


• We can save up to 700MB data (for e.g. Songs,
pictures, and games application – XboX, Nitendo,
PSP).
• We use removable storage devices to store or
save our data.

• DVD is also round in shape.


• We can save data up to 4.7GB, more than a CDROM.
• We need to have a DVD player to play it.
• We use removable storage devices to store or save
our data.

• It is also called a flash drive, thumb drives,


USB drive or memory stick.
• It can hold up data from 512MB to 8GB.
• We need to plug it into USB port of a computer or
laptop.
• We use removable storage devices to store or

Conclusion

from the “Investigation Cup”.

•One number represents clues on what


removable devices that you need to find
around the computer lab.

•You need to read the clues and discuss the


answer with your partner.

•You will be given ONLY 2 minutes to


complete this investigation
