installing configuring computer systems.
B. Performance The learners shall be able to install and configure computer systems based
Standard on established procedures and system requirements.

C. Specific Objectives At the end of the lesson students are expected to :

a. identify the basic parts of a system unit;
b. assemble parts of a system unit; and
c. share the importance of the parts of a system unit
II. SUBJECT MATTER Topic: System Unit

III. INSTRUCTIONAL A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES

PROCEDURE  Prayer
 Prayer in unison
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
 Call the assign beadle for the checking of attendance and let
him/ her write it on the board.
 Classroom Rules
 Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat.
 Treat your teacher and classmates with respect at all times.
 Avoid unnecessary noise when the class is ongoing.
 Using of mobile phones is strictly prohibited.

B. Review
1. The teacher will show pictures of the different tools for CSS.
2. Students will write their answers in a ¼ sheet of paper.
3. Checking of the paper to evaluate if the class can proceed to the next
lesson.

C. Motivation
 The teacher will show a picture of Diosdado “Dado” Banatao.
 Let somebody from the class read the contribution of Dado in the
Computer Industry.
 Emphasize the value focus in the contribution of “Dado” not only for
himself but for his country.

 Show in class list of the different parts of a system unit with its
function. (no images yet)

Group Activity:
ENGAGE
Mystery Box Activity

 The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups.

 Each group will be given a mystery box containing different computer
parts.
 Each group will identify the parts and,
 Paste the different parts of a system unit on the board beside its
name and its function.

GUIDE QUESTION:
 What is the importance of each part of a system unit?

EXPLORE DISASSEMBLING A SYSTEM UNIT: (Cooperative Learning)

Note: Teacher should always remind the class about the proper occupational
safety when working.

Task 1
 Each student will que a line and let each one of them disassemble a
part on system unit.
 The teacher makes sure that the system unit is fully disassembled.
(SET ASIDE THE DISASSEMBLED SYSTEM UNIT FOR THE NEXT APPLICATION ACTIVITY)

Task 2

SYSTEM UNIT PUZZLE

 1)Distribute the system unit puzzle pieces to students.

 2) Set a timer and challenge them to assemble the puzzle within a
given time frame.
 3) Students must correctly match the parts to complete the puzzle.
 4.) Correct assembly will have 10 points.

G. APPLICATION/INTEGRATION/VALUING

 The teacher will pair the students into 3.

 Each pair will be given a task to work on as a team through draw lots.
 They will be performing the task given to them.

Assessment Questions for each group:

1) What is the function of the motherboard in a system unit?
2) How does the power supply unit contribute to the overall functionality of a
computer?
3) Explain the role of the CPU in processing data in a computer system.
4)What is the purpose of the RAM in a system unit?

EXPLAIN DISCUSSION:

The motherboard is the main internal hardware component of the system

unit. This board is called the “motherboard” because it has all the
connectors that connect to the other hardware components of the computer
system. This means that all input and output (I/O) devices have their
connectors on the motherboard.

Just like the RAM and the CPU. RAM provides the shorter-term memory the
CPU needs to open files and move data around as it responds to the tasks
given to it by your apps. Both RAM and the CPU work synchronously and
complementarily to ensure that your computer's performance fits your
needs and you have a good experience when using your device.

G.2: Let’s do the Math

ELABORATE

1.Using your prior knowledge of conversion in Binary Numbers. Convert this

decimal number 64, to binary number.

2. Remember that 1 byte is equivalent 8 bits. So how many byte is 64 bits?

This means to say that, one terabyte gives you the option of storing roughly:
250,000 photos taken with a 12MP camera OR. 250 movies or 500 hours of
HD video OR. 6.5 million document pages, commonly stored as Office files,
PDFs, and presentations.

GENERALIZATION
 The teacher will call random students to answer the given
questions below.
GUIDE QUESTIONS:
What have you learned from today’s lesson?
What are the parts of a system unit;
Can you now assemble basic parts of a system unit?

EVALUATE IV. EVALUATION

Directions: Identify the parts of a System Unit from the given function.

1. This is your computer or laptop's short-term memory. It's where the data
is stored that your computer processor needs to run your applications and
open your files.
A. RAM B. ROM
C. CPU D. I/O DEVICE

2. What do you call the primary component of a computer that acts as its
“control center.” This is also referred to as the “central” or “main” processor
or the brain of a computer?
A. RAM B. ROM
C. CPU D. I/O DEVICE

3. What do you call the backbone that ties the computer's components
together at one spot and allows them to talk to each other? Without it, none
of the computer pieces, such as the CPU, GPU, or hard drive, could interact.
A. Motherboard B. Read Only Memory
C. Central Processing Unit D. I/O Device

4. What do you call the part of a system unit where its function is to convert
electric current from a source to the correct voltage, current, and frequency
to power the load?
A. Motherboard B. Read Only Memory
C. Central Processing Unit D. Power Supply

5. Which one is not true about Silicon Chip?

A. An integrated circuit is a set of electronic circuits on one small flat piece
of semiconductor material, usually silicon.
B. The CPU is usually a two-inch ceramic square with a silicon chip located
inside
C. Large numbers of miniaturized transistors and other electronic
components are integrated together on the chip.
D. It’s a delicious snack of all time.

ANSWER’S KEY:
1. A
2. C
3. A
4. D
5. D
EXTEND V. ASSIGNMENT

1. Research and write a report on the latest advancements in computer

system components, focusing on the advancements in each part of
the system unit.
