Highlands Neighborhood Association Minutes

March 16, 2009

Board members present: Myrna Coleman, Jim Klein, Rose Klein, Bill Schlautman, Dianna
Wright, Kris Meek, Andrew Brown, Michelle Brown and Tommy Taylor. Members and
guests present: Rod Hubbard, Stacie McBride, Ken Kohler and Bob Ruskamp.

We voted to change the order of business in order to have Bob Ruskamp of LES give us
training called Energy Savings 101 on reducing home energy usage. The Top Ten Money-
Saving Home Projects will be listed in the spring HNA newsletter.

President Myrna Coleman called for nominations for each office for election. These are the
newly elected officers.

Vice President: Dianna Wright by acclamation
Secretary: Rose Klein by acclamation
Treasurer: Jim Klein by acclamation
Webmaster: Andrew Brown by acclamation
Directors: Kris Meek, Tommy Taylor, Tami Soper, Michelle Brown,
and Rod Hubbard by acclamation.

Jim Klein made a motion to accept the minutes of the last meeting as e-mailed and printed.
Seconded by Dianna Wright. Approved.

Rose Klein made a motion that Jim Klein pays the Secretary of State $20 to update our
articles of incorporation. Seconded by Dianna Wright. Approved.

Jim Klein made a motion to reimburse Andrew Brown for web site service costs. Seconded
by Tommy Taylor. Approved.

Andrew Brown made a motion to accept the treasurer's report as e-mailed and printed.
Seconded by Kris Meek. Approved.

The board, members and guests discussed the upcoming Egg Hunt scheduled for April 11th.
St. Marks Church Northeast has offered to bring coffee and hot chocolate and bring
volunteers to help with the Egg Hunt.

Andrew Brown made a motion to ask organizations to not distribute pamphlets or materials
until such time as we have a policy in place. Seconded by Tommy Taylor. Approved.

The board members will meet Tuesday, April 7th at 7:30 at Fredstrom School to coordinate
plans for the Egg Hunt. We will need to have a board meeting in the future to discuss a
policy on advertising on the web site and advertising at our events.

The HNA newsletter will be delivered the end of March to announce the Egg Hunt and other
upcoming events. The Spring Garage Sales will be May 14-16 and the Pool Party will be
Saturday, July 18th. Holy Savior Lutheran Church is advertising a Plant Sale on April 24-25.

The next meeting will be Monday, April 20 at 7:30 pm at Fredstrom School.
