What to do on…

Take a walk around

the Island by
seaside. A distance
of 2.6 miles around makes the
Island quaint and cozy.

People watch. According to the 2000 US

Census, Balboa Island is one of the densest
communities in Orange County.
Approximately 3,000 residents live on just
0.2 square miles (0.52 km2) giving it a
population density of 17,621 person per square mile.

Take a five-minute ride on the ferry over to the

peninsula. A Ferris wheel and carnival games await
you.

Enjoy a frozen banana or Balboa bar dipped in

chocolate and rolled in the topping of your
choice; various nuts, chocolate morsels, a
mixture of all, or my favorite…sprinkles. Locals
say that here is where the frozen chocolate
banana was first marketed.

Go for a sail or
kayak
around the
island. The peaceful
waters and oceanfront
properties offer
gorgeous sites. The
plentiful pelicans are
also a joy to see.
