4026 Ball Park Road, Thomasville, NC 27360

On Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at 1:15 a.m., the Thomasville Fire Department along with Thomasville police responded to 4026 Ball Park Road in reference to a vehicle fire. The owner of the 1994 GMC van was able to extinguish the fire just before emergency personnel arrived on the scene. Investigation revealed the fire was intentionally set to the interior of the vehicle. Estimated damage to the vehicle was $1400.00. Thomasville detectives charged Micky Ray Tolbert, 60, with breaking or entering into a motor vehicle, burning of personal property and malicious damage by use of an explosive or incendiary. High Point police assisted in locating Tolbert. Tolbert received a $25,000 secured bond and was placed into the Davidson County Jail. His initial court date is set for 07/31/2013 in Thomasville. The victim and Micky Tolbert are acquaintances and this incident resulted from an ongoing dispute between the two. The malicious damage by use of an explosive or incendiary resulted from the placement of a 20 lb. propane tank on the inside of the vehicle when the fire was started. Det.
