Thomasville Crime Stoppers Fundraiser with Ruby Tuesday

08/15/2013 (Lunch & Dinner)

Date and Time of Incident: Location:

Ruby Tuesday, 1044 Randolph St., Thomasville, NC

Thomasville Police Department officers will be present this Thursday at Ruby Tuesday to benefit Thomasville Crime Stoppers. Through Ruby Tuesdays Give Back Program, 20 percent of all purchases made during the lunch and dinner hours of Thursday, August 15, will be donated to Thomasville Crime Stoppers. Officers and volunteers with Crime Stoppers will be handing out flyers. You must present the flyer to your server to participate in the fundraising effort. Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement: fear and apathy. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest or grand jury indictment of a criminal or wanted person. Crime Stoppers relies on citizen volunteers and tax deductible contributions from the public in order to operate the administration of the program.

Crime Stoppers relies on donations and fundraisers to assist our Thomasville Police Department in paying rewards to anonymous callers to make our community safer, said Thomasville Crime Stoppers Board Chair, Judy Younts. Thomasville Police will be present during lunch and dinner at Ruby Tuesday on this Give Back day so it will be a great opportunity to come out and let them know in person how much you appreciate them, said Younts. A safer city means more visitors, more residents and more business, resulting in more jobs and increased revenues, said Captain Darren Smith. Thomasville Crime Stoppers gets to the core of crime prevention and public safety by identifying the people committing crimes and helping law enforcement get them off the streets, said Smith. For additional information, contact Judy Younts at 336-474-4233. ###
