PART II

Aluminum Dip Brazing Shop

19

Definition

Dip Brazing is a process of joining an Aluminum alloy parts by means of flowing a filler metal between the joint interfaces at a temperature below the melting point of the base metal. With enough heat capacity, thermal energy transfer rapidly and uniformly, and the temperature could be controlled precisely, salt bath be used into brazing joint of assembled aluminum parts, it is called aluminum dip brazing.
20

About Choice of Dip Brazing

Why different from other joining process e.g. welding, brazing, soldering in following aspect: No distortion Close dimensional accuracy Many scores of joints can be dip brazed in one dip Quick, Leak-proof

21

Application Areas
Electronic o Telecommunications o Aerospace o Medical Industries
o

Example
Airplane Wanes Aluminum Pump Impeller Heat Exchangers Evaporators Microwave Guide etc..

The wave guides, with all the bends and twists, for RF plumbing of any communication equipment, are the ideal items for dip brazing.
22

ADVANTAGES

Less Distortion Reduced Tooling Cost Material Savings Improved Structural Integrity Better Conductivity Lower Cost Design Freedom Reduced Design Change Cost Reduced Implementation Time The design engineer will enjoy a greater range of options using the dip brazed process.
