Sorting Activity

Directions: Neatly cut out the pictures below and put them into like groups. Be sure to use all of the pictures. Glue the groups onto a poster. Make sure your poster looks neat and groups are made clear. Write a clear sentence for each group to explain how you have grouped the pictures together (explain your sorting rule).

Science Standard and Indicator:

Standard 3-2: The student will demonstrate an understanding of the structures, characteristics, and adaptations of organisms that allow them to function and survive within their habitats. (Life Science) Indicator: 3-2.5 Summarize the organization of simple food chains (including the roles of producers, consumers, and decomposers).

Rubric for Sorting Activity:

Points Available Poster/sheet is neat and groups are clearly defined. All pictures are used in a group. Each picture fits into the group based on the students rule. Clear sentence written for each group explaining the sorting rule. Total Points 25 25 25 25 100
