I love organising.

Child: Nusayba Date: August 2013 Written by: Teacher Eunjoo Kia Ora/ As salamu alaykum Nusayba and whnau, This afternoon at a quiet time there were so many wooden blocks on the carpet floor. While some children were sleeping and some ate their lunch I suggested that you tidy up the area so you could have more space to play with. I noticed that Nusayba, you were really focusing and concentrating on getting each block shape into the right place where the picture was shown. It took you some time to put all the blocks in the right place but you continued stacking

the blocks until you were finished.

Finally when you had finished organising the blocks you jumped with joy. You were so proud of what you had accomplished and shouted I did it. Well done Nusayba! Ka pai!

Whats happening here? What a beautiful smile you have, Nusayba. It is a pleasure to work with you. It took a long time to tidy the blocks but Nusayba, you stayed there and continued until you finished. I am so happy to see your positive learning disposition such as taking an interest, perseverance, concentration and expressing your feeling confidently continue to grow. I particularly loved seeing you express your sense of accomplishment once you had achieved your goal. Nusayba, you are very confident in your ability to achieve, as evident through you showing your feelings. It shows us that you were proud of what you did and you were confident in your learning. I am sure that you felt very confident and competent while you were organising the blocks

Whats next for Nusaybas learning step? Our teachers will continue to encourage and support your strengths, interests, and abilities such as langauge, organising, and doing things with others by providing various activities, enough time and sensitive interventions when needed.
