Has Chris Hughton found his perfect squad?

Having been at Norwich last season (2012/2013) and consolidating them comfortably in the Premiership, Hughton has been trusted with the budget, and having worked with Nathan Redmond before, was able to sign the England Under-21 winger for the small fee of 2 million with a possible increase to 3.2 million. Having lost target man Grant Holt, whose strength caused some defences a problem a new striker was required as loanee Kei Kamara and Luciano Becchio have been unable to secure regular first team football at the Canaries. This has led to the signings of Johan Elmander on loan, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel and Gary Hooper, who between them have seventy five international caps. Getting the ball off the opponent and playing Hughtons direct style is the key element to Norwichs success.

Winning the ball back off the opponent, without conceding a set piece, is quintessential of a Hughton team who get it to the wingers and into the strikers very quickly.

With the new signings in the box the cross success should increase, unless Van Wolfswinkel puts in a lazy shift like the match at home to Everton. Despite Hoopers injury, Elmander should be able to have a positive effect in the area and more chances should be created.

In the 2-2 draw at home to Everton Norwich only completed 195 passes opposed to Evertons 498, this shows that the passing game is as effectual as the direct style.
