Child: Sameena Date: 5th September 2013 Written by: Teacher Natasha Wow Sameena, I was very impressed

to observe you during the school readiness session today with Teacher Bushra. You sat up straight carefully listening and were eager to have a try, putting yourself forward to be next at practicing the letter b on the whiteboard in front of all your peers. You quickly wrote a capital B on the board, turning to smile at Teacher Bushra and myself. You then carefully tried writing a lower case b referring to the card to check your work.

Review of learning Sameena I could see you continue to build on your dispositions of courage, curiosity, trust and playfulness as you took an interest and were actively involved. I could also see you demonstrate the disposition of responsibility when you took responsibility for your own learning, putting yourself forward to try. You are also becoming familiar with a range of letters, both lower and upper case, understanding marks on paper represent sounds and words, and strengthening your fine motor and eye-hand coordination as you practice writing!

Where to next? Sameena I really enjoyed sharing in your success, as you proudly demonstrated your writing abilities. I want to continue to support this interest of yours as you continue to develop a sense of belonging, and confidence in your abilities and self at An-Nur. I will follow your emerging interests and use this to set up the learning environments. I will ensure writing materials and a wide range of literature is available daily to continue supporting this current interest.
