Head of Advocacy and Communications

Job Purpose: To develop and manage Advocacy and Communications Teams within the Policy and Communications Division To develop, manage and implement strategies for engaging with international and regional institutions, multilateral organisations and selected national governments to encourage international action to prevent violent conflict To contribute to the development and delivery of advocacy and communications strategies at international, regional and national levels across all priority issue areas and geographic programmes To support internal programme and policy cohesion and build the capacity to advocate and communicate effectively to different audiences Roles and Responsibilities: Strategic Planning Lead the development and delivery of advocacy and communications strategies at international, regional and national levels across all priority issue areas and geographic programmes Lead the development and implementation of strategies for engagement with international and regional institutions, multilateral organisations and selected national governments, to encourage international action to prevent violent conflict Work with Heads of Regional Programmes to ensure that relevant experiences and insights arising out of geographic programmes feed into the various advocacy and communications strategies to encourage international action to prevent violent conflict Actively participate in Organisational Management Team and contribute to the preparation and implementation of organisational strategic plan and annual business plan
