For an upcoming UK Government Agency funded programme that aims to stabilize the deforestation frontier
in areas of rural Colombia through supporting sustainable livelihoods (funding to be secured), starting around
August 2023 we are looking for a Project Manager.
• Place of work: Bogotá, Colombia (with very frequent travel to the project area in the Amazone area
of Colombia)
• Project duration (3.5 years)
Tasks
• Provides overall leadership, management, and strategic direction for the activity and to the
staff and larger activity team, including strategic vision on program sustainability and resilience.
• Be the principal liaison between the activity and UK Government agency, partners,
government, and stakeholders; advance public-private partnerships; and ensure alignment to
other relevant programs.
• Ensures effective delivery and quality of program activities, and activity responsiveness to
changing conditions and operating environments.
• Provides overall technical and administrative leadership to the activity implementation
team, including development of strategies, budgets, work plans, MEL plans and reporting.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates technical and operational activities to ensure that goals and
objectives are met, and prescribed timeframes and funding parameters follow Foreign,
Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) regulations and Swisscontact’s policies.
• Ensures the strategic and functional integration of all technical areas as well as strong
collaboration with government counterparts, donors, private sector, and other implementing
partners.
• Oversees monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities, and apply adaptive management
throughout the life of the activity.
• Oversees and ensures high quality and timely activity deliverables, compliant with the scope
of work and FCDO guidelines.
• Apply an inclusive approach to activity implementation and staffing.
• Responsible for program administration, implementation, and fiscal management, ensuring
that financial activity aligns with budget allocations, internal policies, and FCDO regulations.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with organizations working in workforce development or
related subjects; oversee the coordination of program partners.
• Supervise, manage, and mentor program staff, advancing capacity development, knowledge
transfer and knowledge creation.
• Represent the activity and Swisscontact as/where necessary.
