STAD Lesson Plan Analysis: Subjunctive Mood This lesson plan is very strong overall because it is thorough, descriptive,

and contains many quality examples and good worksheets and quizzes. I think that this lesson plan could have been organized a little better to make it more clear, but over all this is a really good lesson plan. The aspects of this lesson plan that connect to the STAD model are: content, the learning objectives, instruction, teams, and evaluation. The content of this lesson plan is on subjunctive mood and the learning objectives are: Students will know that the conditional and the subjunctive moods are very similar. b- Students will be able to use the verbs in the subjunctive mood accurately. c- Students will be able to justify the use of the tenses: Past and Past Perfect Subjunctive. These concepts have convergent answers which are ideal for implementing STAD. The instruction piece of this lesson plan also closely follows STAD, because the instructor first teachers the concept to the class before dividing the students into teams. During team work, the students cooperate to complete the worksheets. They are tested individually for evaluation, but they receive improvement points for their teams. I think that this lesson plan is fairly strong overall, and the only aspect of the lesson that I would tweak would be the examples. I think that a weakness of most grammar books and worksheets is that the examples are so boring that they put the students to sleep. When I teach grammar, I always try to make funny and creative examples to help the students remember the concept better.
