Front cover images

For the front cover of my magazine, I am going to use one of my friends, instead of an actual artist. This will benefit me because it means I can position and model them as I want to. Because I will know the model I will be able to speak to them in a mor e in-formal, less professional way, when taking the images. I have decided to use my friend for my cover image. To make him look like an actual musician, I am going to give him drum sticks as a prop. I am not going to use any make, just studio lighting to create different effects on the model. He is going to be wearing; black vans, skinny jeans, a plain shirt, and a beanie. This is a style associated with Indie rock music. I will use a grey or white backdrop, but light the image with a beauty dish to create a bright focused area, with dark edges. Then I will edit the image in Photoshop, using different brushes and textures on the background of the image, making it suit the genre even more.

Cover lines
The main cover line will be DRUMMERS SPECIAL, linking to the cover image. The rest of the cover lines will be in a smaller font, and there will only be 5 cover lines, sticking to the simplistic cover style. The other 4 cover lines will be; -Manchesters Charity concert -Interview with . -Festival essentials -Camera gear for concerts The cover lines will all be the same colour, however this colour depends on the backdrop I use in my cover image. If the backdrop I use is grey, I will use white for the cover lines, if the backdrop is white, I will use red for the cover lines.

Text for contents page

On the contents page I am going to use a simple layout, with not a lot of text. The text that is on the page will be very simplistic and easy to understand. For the text describing the article, I am going to, again, keep the text quite simplistic and easy to understand.

Contents images
For the contents page I will only have images linking to the main articles, (interview, gig review). I will use images of the band playing live, linking to the interview double page spread. I will also use images of a band performing live, for the gig review article.

DPS article
For the double page spread I am going to interview a band. I have decided to do this because I feel it will be an easy way to put content on the page. However my target audience said they would prefer a predominately image based dps.
