Well-Being/Mana Atua
Lujain is confident in the knowledge her emotional wellbeing will be cared for and is kept safe from harm at An-Nur. Lujain freely expresses her emotions and enjoys making decisions taking her time to think through her choices. Lujain is developing positive attitudes towards sleeping, eating and toileting as she gains self-help and self-care skills.

Belonging/Mana Whenua
Lujain attends An-Nur with her mother, brother and uses the van transport which all supports her connections of home, centre and wider community being affirmed and extended. Lujain is starting to associate items and objects as belonging to her or others, while also enjoying participating in group experiences.

Contribution/Mana Tangata
Lujain experiences an environment with equitable opportunities, with the opportunity to observe and be alone or smaller groups during routines. Lujain enjoys her kiwi group time in the morning, and shows an interest in all sensory play in particular play dough.

Communication/Mana Reo
Lujain enjoys using her body as a means of expression in particular participating in action and listening games. Lujains home language of Arabic is supported within the centre, she often sings Arabic nasheeds joyfully. Lujain is increasingly becoming aware of printed text of Aabic and English, displaying an enjoyment for a wide range of books.

Exploration/Mana Aotroa
Lujain enjoys art and sensory opportunities and a means to explore early math and science concepts

I plan to use Lujains interest in art and sensory activities to plan meaningful experiences with a focus on both math concepts such as value, direction etc and a source of self-expression. Now Lujain is beginning to identify objects as sources of belonging, we will begin labelling items with English and Arabic to support her literacy. Your teachers will continue to empower you to make decisions as you enjoy more free play within smaller groups. We will encourage positive sleep routines and focus on toileting attitudes as Lujain settles and works through normal separation anxiety.
