Student Assistant Gets Full Doctoral Fellowship

Senior Agostina Casamento Moran is a little far from home, having grown up in Cordoba, Argentina, but shes made herself at home at ECU. Shell be graduating this May with a bachelors of science in Kinesiology, works as a student assistant in the librarys Circulation Department and plays for the womens tennis team. But Agostina wanted to further her education by getting a masters of science in Kinesiology. After looking at fellowship programs at the University of Florida (UF), she contacted Dr. Evangelos Christou at their Neuromuscular Physiology lab. He was impressed and held a Skype interview with her about the combined master & doctoral programs. Following an hour of talking, Dr. Christou invited her to Florida to tour the lab and finish her interview process. While touring UF, she interviewed with all members of the lab and got to help with biomedical presentations. They were apparently very impressed. Agostina has a five-year full fellowship for the doctoral program, with a tuition waiver and a stipend for working in the lab. We are all very proud of Agostina and wish her the best of luck as she continues her education!
