Journal Entry # 3 Effective Teaching- Learning Process

1. Write a reflection on how the teachers teaching strategies learners activities and instructional materials helped facilitate an effective teaching- learning process.

Everyone in the learning community is a learner, not just the student. To teach allows you to learn and that when you learned well, you can teach well. There is mutuality in learning. Students learn from teachers. Students learn from another. And more important for you to remember, teachers learn from the student. As teacher for me is one of the challenging career but absolutely the most important profession. Being a teacher is not an easy job. A teacher takes great patience strength, courage, a great deal of self sacrifice compassion, intelligence, humour, kindness, generosity and most of all a caring heart. My observations in the class of third year, section Amethyst at Maco National High School is that, my Cooperating Teacher applies all the possible concepts and strategies in teaching his student that is effective for their learning skills. Now, I have the ideas on how teachers strategies learners activities and instructional material helped to facilitate an effective teaching-learning process. The teacher must be

knowledgeable enough and very energetic in handling her class. Before he discusses the topic, he introduced first the topic so that the students have the idea of what is it all about. As he explained or elaborated his topic he will asked a question to his pupils to give their own perception about the topic and to check their comprehension skills. He also prepared a visual aid to be use as instructional materials and provides the needs of the learner. Also, the learners should not only engage with paper and ball pen, they must be involve in an activity or a task group so that they will not fell discourage and boring in learning. In teaching strategies, learning activities and instructional materials is a big helped to the learners because not only to facilitate an effective teaching-learning process but to enhance their learning, confidence and ideas.

Teaching is not about filling up the pail, it is about lighting a fire (Facilitating learning)
