The recorded lecture was a concise yet comprehensive discussion.

With this, allow me to share

the three insights I learned.

● First, before I thought that a teacher simply stood at the front of the room, lecturing from
a textbook and giving a quiz at the end of the lesson. But now I realize that teachers
have a major role to play inside the classroom in order to provide the best learning
experience for students. Of the many roles that a teacher performs in the classroom,
those as a designer, facilitator, and assessor are found to be the most essential.

● Secondly, before I thought that teachers were the ones who were responsible for
creating and preparing the content or topics to be discussed in class, but now I realize
that a curriculum guide outlines the content and standards that will be covered through
the unit lessons.

● Lastly, before I thought that in order to be an effective teacher, we must identify and
cater to our student's specific learning styles, but now I realize that matching learning
styles to learners' preferences actually makes no difference to their learning. As
discussed in TEDTALK, learning is the same regardless of how the content is presented.
Thus, the best way to help our learners learn is to connect to the content and make it
meaningful, because most of what they will learn is stored in terms of meaning, and they
can also learn this using multiple senses.
This padlock and key best symbolize that the three elements of teaching and learning
are interrelated, interconnected, and affect one another because the teacher serves as
the prime mover of the educational wheel; the learners are the key participants in the
learning process since they are directly involved in the instruction, and the learning
environment provides essential features and ingredients that could make headway in
guiding the processes and methodologies of instruction; it is also a great attribute to the
success of the learner. If one of the elements is missing, there may be no genuine
teaching or learning considering that all of them play an important role in the system.
Therefore, the presence of each element is so important in the teaching and learning
process as it facilitates a well-executed teaching and learning process.
This group of papers symbolizes the issue of workload for teachers, which needs
immediate attention and action because it restricts the time for actual teaching. They
must hire administrative staff and delegate teachers' administrative and other duties
unrelated to teaching so that teachers can focus on teaching and give a lot of time and
guidance with students.
The idea of learning styles is very common to teachers since our students come from a
variety of backgrounds. However this concept of specific learning styles endangers
students by preventing them from seeing the contextual nature of their abilities. So rather
than focusing on this concept, I used this mirror as a symbol to encourage students to
explore their preferences as learners through self-reflection on frequently used strategies
or study skills.
Hence, teachers are not only expected to deliver a lesson but with their knowledge,
experiences and competencies, teachers are central to any curriculum development
effort. Teachers serve as facilitators of learning and therefore should assist and let a
student acquire knowledge on their own. And as the assessor they will need to monitor
and assess the progress of students in order to determine what needs to be done in the
following lessons and provide feedback and correction. Better teachers support better
learning because they are most knowledgeable about the practice of teaching
