Before the acti)it*. 0 will need to clear an area in m* classroom for the children to bake. 0 will need to locate a
good. safe lace for the con)entional o)en as well. 0 will la* out all of the ingredients and tools. and 0 will also
need to go o)er the ha/ards with the children. 1hen la*ing out ingredients. 0 will lace them in a line in order of
which we need to use first. This wa*. the children will be able to distinguish what we will be adding next. 0 need
to double check the children in m* class. to make sure no one is allergic to the ingredients.

recautions. and make sure that the* are aware the o)en can burn them. 0 will sa*. his o)en will get reall* hot
to bake our cookies. but if we touch it or get too close. it can burn our skin. So we want to sta* awa* from the
o)en when *ou see it red.0 will go o)er a measuring cu and show them how to fill it and take off the excess
ingredients.
0 will get the children started b* asking a small grou of children to attend the baking area. where another
teacher will be waiting. 0 will then dismiss other children to different small grou acti)ities. 1e will switch
grous after making a small batch of ingredients so that e)er* child will get a chance to articiate.
%fter arri)ing to the baking area. 0 will remind children about the o)en. Then. 0 will show them what we will be
mixing the ingredients in. and show them the rocess. Before starting. 0 will ask. ho would like to measure the

To bring the acti)it* to a conclusion. 0 will alert the children 9 minutes beforehand that we ha)e fi)e minutes
until clean u. 0 will sa*. ka* e)er*one. 0 bet the cookies will be )er* good. we need to start cleaning in fi)e
minutes.0 will continue counting down the time until clean u begins.
1hen clean u begins. 0 will start singing the clean u song. 0 will let children know that it is time to clean u.
and 0 will carr* a bucket around so that the children can get in)ol)ed. 0 will romt the children to ut in utensils
and bowls in the clean u bin.
0 will tell the children to wash their hands. where another teacher will be waiting for them. That teacher will
guide the children to their next acti)it*. ,hildren will ha)e to wait at the sink. and 0 will gi)e the teacher who
accomanies them a song to teach them while the* are waiting with hand mo)ements. The children will be taught
to make octous with their fingers and swim to the song. The* will then transition outside. after washing their
hands. there will not be a waiting time for the children. the* will be dismissed as the* are read* with an adult.
0 would need to take into consideration cleaning u the tables in between children transitioning.

,hildren will take some of their cookies home. with them. The* will also be sent home with a recie for the
sugar cookies we had made in class. 0 will encourage arents to go o)er the recie with each of their children so
that the* can reflect and discuss the in class acti)it*. ,hildren will also ha)e time to reflect on this acti)it*. when
0 ask them about the different t*es of ocean cookies. 0 will ask them 4uestions to stimulate reflection when we
are conducting other acti)ities like. emember the octous. like we made in the cookies. what did it look like3
