In the year 2525

In the year 2525, if man is still alive

If woman can survive, they may find
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need
your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you
In the year 6565
You won't need no husband, won't need no
wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube

I picked the son in the year2525 because it talks
about the issues that are brought up in Fahrenheit
451. Like where people can pick their children and
have them from a test tube, or how the
government is controlling what they are thinking.
How people are just relying on their technology
and their machines.
Sound of Silence
Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
'Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon
light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.
I picked this son for after Montage meets Clarisse,
Because when Montage goes home his wife is not
going to care if he has meet someone interesting
so he is basically going to be silent about this, he is
going to have to keep this to himself. But also this
song talks about Clarisses impact on Montage.
Stairway to Heaven
There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are
all closed
I picked Stairway to Heaven for when Montage
finds Mildred unconscious on the floor after having
an overdose. That part that says shes buying a
stairway to heaven is kind of like saying that
Mildred was trying to solve her problems through
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two
meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who
sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.

Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.
this drug.
"Grapevine Fires"
When the wind picked up the fire spread
And the grapevines seemed left for dead.
And the northern sky, like the end of day,
The end of days.

A wake up call to a rented room
Sounded like an alarm of impending doom.
To warn us it's only a matter of time.
Before we all burn [4x]

We bought some wine and some papercups
Near your daughter's school when we picked
her up
And drove to a cemetery on a hill
On a hill.

I picked Grapevine Fires to represent fire and in
this song there is a great presence of fire and the
same goes for Fahrenheit 451. And in the third line
of the lyrics its as if these people are oblivious to
this impending fire in the same way as the people
in Fahrenheit 451 are oblivious to the evils they
are commiting.
"Short Change Hero"
I can't see where you comin' from
But I know just what you runnin' from:
And what matters ain't the "who's baddest" but
The ones who stop you fallin' from your
ladder, baby

And you feel like you feelin' now
And doin' things just to please your crowd,
When I love you like the way I love you,
And I suffer, but I ain't gonna cut you 'cause

This ain't no place for no hero.
This ain't no place for no better man.
This ain't no place for no hero
To call "home."
I picked Short change hero to represent Beatty,
because Montage looks up to Beatty, but in truth
Beatty is definitely no hero, he has read his fair
share of books and he does in a sense see the evil
that the government is imposing on the people,
but he does not do anything about it.

"I Heard It Through The Grapevine"
Ooh, I bet you're wondering how I knew
'bout you're plans to make me blue
with some other guy that you knew before.
Between the two of us guys
you know I love you more.
It took me by surprise I must say,
when I found out yesterday.
Don't you know that...

[Chorus:]
I heard it through the grapevine
not much longer would you be mine.
Oh I heard it through the grapevine,
Oh and I'm just about to lose my mind.
Honey, honey yeah.

I heard it through the Grapevine is for the
betrayal that Montage feels when he sees Mildred
leave Ooh, I bet you're wondering how I knew
'bout you're plans to make me blue and I
heard it through the grapevine for how Beatty
found out about Montage.

"Disco Inferno"
(Burn baby burn)
(Burn baby burn)
(Burn baby burn)
(Burn baby burn)
To my surprise one hundred storeys high
People getting loose y'all
Getting down on the roof
Folks are screaming out of control
It was so entertaining
I decided that this was the perfect song for when
Montage burns Beatty alive. The part Folks are
screaming out of control for Beatty screaming
while he is on fire. I decided to bring some dark
humor into the storie.
When the boogie started to explode
I heard somebody say

"Run Boy Run"
Run boy run! This world is not made for you
Run boy run! Theyre trying to catch you
Run boy run! Running is a victory
Run boy run! Beauty lays behind the hills

Run boy run! The sun will be guiding you
Run boy run! Theyre dying to stop you
Run boy run! This race is a prophecy
Run boy run! Break out from society

When Montage is on the run and is being chased I
decided that Run Boy Run would be
"Eve Of Destruction"
The eastern world it is explodin',
violence flarin', bullets loadin',
you're old enough to kill but not for votin',
you don't believe in war, what's that gun you're
totin',
and even the Jordan river has bodies floatin',
but you tell me over and over and over again
my friend,
ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of
destruction.

I picked the song Eve of Destruction for when
the city gets nuked. The line you don't believe in
war relates to the citizens of the city that did
not think that they would be killed in the war.
This song goes well with the ignorance and
stupidity of the people in the city. If they had
been prepared and had tried to plan what to do
if nuclear war where to break out a good
number may have survived.
"Handlebars"
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

Look at me, look at me
Hands in the air like its good to be
Alive and I'm a famous rapper
Even when the paths are all crookedy
I can show you how to dosey doe
I can show you how to scratch a record
I can take apart the remote control
And I can almost put it back together
Handlebars is a song that represents the loss of
innocents and intelligence of the people. Most of
the activities that are done in the first line these
people would not know how to do them.
I can tie a knot in a cherry stem
I can tell you about Leif Ericson
I know all the words to "De Colores"
And "I'm proud to be an American"
Me and my friends saw a platypus
Me and my friends made a comic book
And guess how long it took
I can do anything that I want 'cause look
