Can the A-B-C technique be
applied to personal goals?
A-B-C Findings
A- Being asked/reminded to exercise with one
of my family members or friends.
B- Making excuses to NOT exercise.
C- lack of energy and flexibility.
Goal/ Objectives
I will exercise 3x per week for 30 minutes each
instance.
Interim- week 1& 2- I will exercise 3x per week
for 15 minutes each.

Working out with consistency is important for
achieving fitness resultsA commitment to a
regular workout regimen will increase your
fitness level, improve your health and
generate a greater sense of mental well being.

Improvement and change occur when you do
things often. Stopping and starting all the time
will kill any momentum you need to succeed.

Intervention Schedule/ Plan
Scheduled Stretching with Bobbie Mon., Wed.,
and Fri. for 15-30 minutes.
Find reasons to say YES instead of making
excuses when asked to exercise.

Results Explained
Baseline- The only actual exercise done in the
baseline week was involuntary. I had to walk
home from work because I did not have a ride.
Week 1- I was excited about the challenge and
exercised 3x that week.
Week 2- Not so good this week. Exercised 2x this
week.
Week 3- My daughter asked me to take a walk
just after I was brainstorming how to word the
behavior. This was the only exercise I did this
week.
Conclusion
I did not meet my goal for consistency
I DID increase the instances of exercising and
refrained from making excuses when asked to
exercise.
