They were all beneficial!
Faith based writing
The Global Philosophy Paper. I never understood how to meld technology with my educational philosophy. Also, in later readings of The Beautiful Tree, the
author discusses why technology is not appropriate (at present) in many third world countries. Also, check all the online links before the next course, as several
did not work during the 8 weeks of the course. Oh, I almost forgot. Having to post supportive comments to my illiterate classmates' posts was a drag. We're
required to post a minimum of two comments per discussion, that no other students likely read. All I usually wanted to write was, Your writing stinks. Even
though you may have good ideas, I just focus on how poorly you write. How do you expect to teach our children when you can't write a decent paragraph?
Question: The least beneficial assignment was...because...
Field experience, I felt that this was a calling I may have to work with adults.
Field experience!! I stepped out of the box and visited ESL classes in night classes! I now want to volunteer with programs like this.
Field experience
Reading The Beautiful Tree because it is a well-written, interesting, and important book.
Question: The most beneficial assignment was...because...
The videos of the different children around the world and their educational experiences
All of them! They were very interesting.
Symbaloo project
reading The Beautiful Tree.
Question: My favorite class session was...because...
My eyes have been open to how education works around the world
You are the best instructor I have had to date! I always fell accomplished and ready for the world after completing your courses.
She makes learning interesting and worth the time spent reading the class material. She cares about her students and her Christian values. She is amazing.
That I truly appreciate her dedication to making this a useful course. She kept the unavoidable wastes of time to a minimum.
Question: I would like my instructor to know...

The roundtable discussion video The Future of Technology and Education. It was 6-7 years old, and some of the material covered was out-of-date. Don't get
me started on the weaknesses of an online course. It's a gawdawful way to educate and/or learn.
Question: The weaknesses of the course were...
Variety of medias used in teaching
The overall information provided was extremely valuable.
The use if technology to turn in assignments as well as the abundant information given to us on subject matter.
The text, The Beautiful Tree. Also was Time for School: Part 3. Many of the readings were useful and/or interesting.
Question: The strengths of this course were...

Online class
Question: Comments about classrom facilities:
Fair techniques always used Nordstrom
Question: Comments about evaluation methods:
Dr. Nordstrom has constructed a useful online course. She is supportive and enthusiastic. Nordstrom
Very helpful! Nordstrom
Question: Comments about interpersonal relationships:
Given the constraints of an online course, Dr. Nordstrom was as effective as I could have asked for. Nordstrom
Dr. Nordstrom challenges me while providing me with the tools necessary to be successful! Nordstrom
Great class! Nordstrom
Question: Comments about teacher effectiveness:
Best LU online course so far. For all the myriad shortcomings inherent in an online course, this has been almost enjoyable. The assigned readings and videos
online were mostly useful and interesting, the text is a masterpiece, and Dr. Nordstrom is very approachable, understanding, and helpful.
Instead of so many writing projects I would have enjoyed creating something with the information learned.
I enjoyed this class, and I was reminded of why we teach. Great information; great instructor.
