Il nest pas possible de distinguer clairement les deux catgories de chrtiens,

plusieurs explications fournies ntant pas certaines. Peut-tre sagit-il dune
distinction territoriale, ceux vivant en Irak et en Iran (appels aujourdhui nAsrAyE,
Sundermann, OL 1982, 492, sans rejeter lhypothse des Mandens, pense quil peut
sagir des chrtiens dorigine non grecque) dans lErAn tant distingu de ceux des
pays conquis vivant dans lAnErAn (Syrie, chrtiens dAntioche par ex.). Ils ne
peuvent en tout cas reprsenter les Mandens.
