Riverside Police Respond to Bicycle Accident at Harlem and Addison

crash within last month involving bicyclist
On Monday, July 7, 2014 at 3:47 p.m., the Riverside Police Department received several 911 phone
calls reporting an injury accident at Harlem and Addison involving a bicyclist.
When the first officer arrived, the injured party who was riding the bike was up and walking.
The driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old female resident of Berwyn and an independent witness told
police the following events. The bicyclist actually drove into the side of the vehicle. When interviewing
the injured man who was riding south on Harlem and wanted to turn right on Addison Road and he
them hit the car that was crossing from 32
nd
street in Berwyn onto Addison in Riverside. There was
very minor damage to the bicycle as the result of the accident. The light was green for Addison Road.
The male bicyclist was treated by paramedics at the scene but refused transport to the hospital.
The vehicle driver was not injured and both the bike and vehicle had minor damage.
The vehicle involved in the accident was a 2009 Nissan Cube. No tickets were issued in this crash
investigation.
