Short and Long Term Goals

Short and Long Term Goals
Goals are always something to have and to aspire towards in life. After
graduating high school I had the goal of not only getting accepted into college, but
graduating from college as well. Now that graduating college is finally in my grasp
and will be attained, I have more goals for myself heading into the future. First and
foremost, I want to pass my licensing exam for the Florida Board of Nursing. This
will allow me to reach my second goal of getting hired at Bayfront Medical Center as
a registered nurse. Once these goals have been completed, I have more that I want to
achieve as I further my nursing career. After working several years as a registered
nurse, gaining a larger knowledge base and skill level, I want to apply to a nurse
practitioner program and get accepted. Once I am accepted into a nurse practitioner
program, I want to achieve the goal of graduating from that program and become a
licensed family nurse practitioner. These are my goals for the coming years in my
career, and once these have been accomplished, I will develop more goals heading
even further into my future.

Short Term Goals
- Within one month of graduation from nursing school, I want to take and pass
the NCLEX exam, to attain my nursing licensure.
- After receiving my licensure, I want to apply and be hired to Bayfront
Medical Center by the end of September 2014.

Long Term Goals
- After working as an RN for four to five years, I want to apply and be accepted
into a family nurse practitioner program.
- Within 4 years of starting the program, I want to graduate from nurse
practitioner school and begin working as a licensed family nurse practitioner.
