Interview

1. At what time did you start to lay the concrete hollow blocks
We started at around 10:00 in the morning.
2. What is the horizontal spacing of vertical bars in the process of laying the concrete
hollow blocks?
60 cm
3. What is the vertical spacing of the horizontal reinforcement bars in the laying of CHB?
Every three layers of CHB
4. What are the dimensions of CHB you used to make the walls of the T&B?
40cm (length) x 20cm (height) x 5 in (thickness)
5. What is the diameter of the reinforcement bars you used in the laying of CHB?
10mm diameter reinforcement bars
6. What is the ratio of the mortar used in the process?
1:6 ratio; for every bag of cement, 6 parts of fine aggregates (sand) will be mixed. If the
mixture is too strong, we add more water.
7. How many layers of CHB was used to make the wall of the T&B?
We added 4 layers of CHB from the existing finish floor line. From the new finish floor
line we made, we layed 12 layers of CHB to complete the wall.
8. How high was the new finish floor line from the existing one?
80cm-90cm
9. What is the width and height of the beam you are forming?
28cm x 40cm
10. What is the spacing of the stirrups used for the beam reinforcements?
5cm x 3; 10cm x 3 from junctions/ends; 20cm for the rest (center)

IV. Accomplishment Report

Date: Wednesday, July 02, 2014
Time: 03:00 PM
Weather: Fair weather, partly cloudy
Accomplishment:

Mr. Dennis Antonio and Mr. Ruben Aligway

They started to lay the concrete hollow blocks from 10 in the morning. Mr. Ruben lays
the CHBs while Mr. Dennis mixes and gives him the mortar. On that day, they finished
on laying CHBs on the left side wall of the kitchen and the inner walls of the T&B at the
ground floor.

Mr. Norlin Cena and Mr. Gil Jobido

They accomplished to assemble and build the formworks using the metal tubes resting
on the soil to serve as a stand for the 2in x 3in coco lumber, trimmed at the other end to
fit the metal tubes. This method was used to conserve buying coco lumber as it is only
needed for the formworks. Mr. Norlin and Mr. Gil also cut and build the wood that will
form a mould for the beams of the structure. They will trim it according to how the
beams dimensions are specified.
