world even to this day. The Katana is a
ancient weapon of Chinese and Japanese

where it was rst created and who the
creator is but it is known that just to forge
the blade of the Katana itself would take
up to two to four days alone. The Katana

Kendo is the descendent of the martial
art of kenjutsu. Kenjutsu is exactly like
kendo but was only warriors and
swordsmen learnt kenjutsu and was
slightly modied like using bamboo
swords rather than a katana. Kendo is a
semi-contact sport. Most of the time

Kendo purpose.
To mold the mind and body.
To cultivate a vigorous spirit,
And through correct and rigid training,
To strive for improvement in the art of Kendo.
To hold in esteem human courtesy and honor.
To associate with others with sincerity.
And to forever pursue the cultivation of oneself.
Thus will one be able:
To love one's country and society;
To contribute to the development of culture;
And to promote peace and prosperity among all
peoples.
