MVP of the Week

Dear Franklin All-Stars Parents,
As you know, each student will be MVP of the Week in my classroom. There will be several activities
to make them feel special that week.
The following schedule of events will be used.
Monday: They will share the special poster that they made. The poster can include pictures,
poems, words that describe them, what they like, etc. (BE CREATIVE) **Made at home**

Tuesday: Favorite Book- They will bring in one of their favorite picture books to read to the class
or have me read to the class.

Wednesday: Treasured Trinkets- They will bring 2-3 items (school appropriate) from home that
has some sort of special meaning to them. They will want to bring things that help us know
them better, not just as a gift they got for a birthday or a certificate they got in 1
st
grade.

Thursday: Parent Letter- Please write a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to
you. Send the letter to school in a sealed envelope in their homework folder (if possible) with
your child, and I will read the letter to the class. The content of the letter is up to you, but you
may want to choose from one of the following ideas: describe a special or funny story about
your child for the class to hear, write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat
things we may not know about your child, send a silly or special picture with the letter
describing the picture, or write a short story with your child being the main character.

Friday: Classmates will help make a special Friends Poster for them to take home.

Please check the attached schedule for the week your child will be MVP of the Week. Names are in
ABC order according to last names.
