CLASS EVENTS:
Every Tuesday this month will be Take a Book Tuesday. Each Tuesday,
we will take a book to a different part of the school, where we will spend 30

sit on and a light snack for these events.
As noted in the math section of this newsletter, we will have Fraction Friday
on October 3

your child is allergic to anything that could be in these two foods, please let
me know and I will make arrangements for them to have something else to
eat.
SC HISTORY PLAY:
Every year at W.E. Parker, 3
rd
graders participate in the SC History Play. This play
will take place on November 20
th
at 10:00am and at 6:00pm. Students are practicing
the songs for this play during their music class, but please make sure that your
student is practicing the songs that Mrs. Bell has sent home. November will be here
before you know it!
FIELD TRIP INFORMATION:
On October 23
rd
, we will be taking a trip to the SC Governors Mansion. The cost is
$10, and the money is due on October 21
st
. If you are interested in being a
chaperone, please let me know. A permission slip will be sent home next week.
RECAP OF A SUPER SEPTEMBER:
September was a great month for our class! To the right, you see Snapshots of our
Super September. Cade and Brian are shown developing a government, just as our
forefathers of South Carolina did. Bria is seen with her tiger face on during our Silly
September event. Many of our students are shown in the afterschool Art Club,
where they are seen holding up their craft. Caroline has her plant proudly in her
hand to show that she knows what nutrients a plant needs to grow. Christine is
practicing for her morning piano lesson with Ms. Bell. Your children are growing in
their knowledge with each passing day, and I cannot wait to see them blossom!
STUDY TIME REMINDER:
On the class website, there are graphing organizers and timelines to help your child
understand in class material. For vocabulary, I have a link on my website to an online
flashcard website. Also, be sure to check your childs binder for study helpers that
were created in class. Thank you very much for the time that you spend helping your
child understand class material!
