Assignment

The Info:
Packaging is included in daily life and is found in every nook and
cranny of your home, school, and markets. With any product, the
packaging surrounding it has become more and more
creative and can influence consumer's perception of the
product it contains. In this activity we’re going to take a closer
look at Product Packaging.

The Challenge:
To design and produce a cereal box cover - both front and back – that
will
capture the viewers’ attention.

Materials:

• Cereal box • Markers

• Glue • Colored pencils
• Construction paper
• Scissors

The Process:

Step 1: Research! Identify your target audience (who are you gearing it
towards, children, young adults, adults, senior
citizens). Also research any other vital information that should be
included into your design.

Step 2: Brainstorm! Draw 10 thumbnail sketches of what your cereal

box would look like. 5 sketches for the front cover, 5 for the
back cover. Remember this should not only capture the interest
of your buyer, but also be informative! Sizes should be
noted, as well as basic color
Step 3: Produce your final design on a cereal box, making sure all
appropriate color, information, and graphics are present. At
least 2 graphics required.

Step 4: Write a 2 paragraph reflection on what you learned during this

project. What principles of designs are used? Include
thoughts on how you could have improved your work, and any
other information/activities that may be helpful to you.
